Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople announced on late Wednesday. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on December 29th, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his team members.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The sports star had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his promoter had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.
“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two trusted companions.”
This update on his health arrives after the global fight fans offered condolences for the champion in the wake of the devastating accident.
