Trump Calls Families of Injured Guard Soldiers to White House

President Trump announced on the weekend that he has invited the family of a Guard member fatally shot last week to attend the executive mansion.

He added that he contacted her parents and they were “devastated”.

Background on the Devastating Event

Soldier Beckstrom, twenty years old, was lost her life in a violent incident on last Wednesday in DC.

Her fellow service member, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in serious condition.

Vigils across the state have taken place in their remembrance.

White House Offer

The commander-in-chief explained he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the families of both soldiers of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a difficult moment, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” Trump addressed journalists. “And similarly with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Support

Mourners gathered over the past few days at a local school in West Virginia to honor Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been working with the military unit as part of the president’s government program to assist policing efforts in Washington DC.

Remembering the Soldier

“Sarah was the individual that educators wished for. She carried herself with calm resilience, a contagious smile and a optimistic attitude that inspired those around her,” the principal, the principal of Beckstrom’s former high school, stated to the press. “She was sweet, compassionate and always willing to support those in need.”

Funeral details for Sarah are in the process of planning.

Judicial Measures and Government Changes

Law enforcement have charged a 29-year-old suspect with a charge of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder while armed.

The incident caused the government to suspend asylum processing and temporarily stop granting visas to holders of travel documents.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

The airman, a resident of the city, started his military career in early 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, as reported by the news agency.

He continues to receive treatment and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia leader the governor stated on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general Bondi informed Fox News Sunday that she planned to visit his relatives.

Memory of the Fallen Soldier

Sarah, from Summersville, completed her education from her high school in June 2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a military police officer with honor, as stated by the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she definitely had courage,” he addressed the audience at the vigil. “Though her life was cut short, she has left a mark that’s going to endure.”
