Soccer Analyst Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Murs in Premier League Predictions

Arsenal's 10-game victorious run came to an end by the Black Cats before the global break, however will the Premier League frontrunners recover against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of special visitors.

In week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' latest record, the new release, is out on Friday.

Football and Parenting Life

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of several Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a player.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "The team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse his partner have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not force football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their weekend soccer side," he said.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our team for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be fairly tight, however. The Clarets are well organised and their sole home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their past two games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they appear strong again.

West Ham's sole on the road win this season came at Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers extending their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I will choose the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Villa was a blip.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season began, but they have surprised a several observers under their manager and are in good form with three in their past four games.

A family member told me to select Bees forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

The forward will probably score again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

They have not had great fortune on the travel this term, and Brighton are always decent at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to attack on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually proves to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six matches.

They have have plenty of quality in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

Their performance in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not seen any other team rough up the North London side like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of last month.

But I am not going to choose that. Instead, I truly need to continue going against the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the only team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be extremely desperate for a good result, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

The guest's choice: I know Sunderland are doing well and also that the hosts are on a poor run... but they have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard fixture to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
