More than 50 Child Refugee Children Still Missing Subsequent to Going Missing from Care in UK
In excess of 50 lone minor migrants who went missing soon after coming the UK and while in the care of government agencies are still missing, according to data gathered.

In each instance, minors from Albania were the most numerous nationality to disappear, making up half the overall number from the temporary accommodations, 68, and over 25% from the care facilities, 65.
The subsequent biggest nationalities to have gone missing from each location are Afghans then people from Iran.

Experts emphasized additional actions are necessary to find the vanished minors. "Minors have not opted to vanish. These children should be participating in activities in the park and preparing for their exams, not working for trafficking gangs in conditions we know entail being tied up, physically and sexually assaulted, and penalized by being deprived of meals."
Legal Changes and Ongoing Concerns
In late 2023, after a long-running legal proceeding relating to unaccompanied minor refugees disappearing from all designated facilities, the practice of regularly housing children in hotels was ruled unlawful.
Instead, agencies committed to strengthen security for these children by enlarging the use of welcome hubs. Following that legal decision another 44 children have vanished from these centres, with 10 still missing and 34 found.
