FC Barcelona Set to Play Inaugural Game at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday

Barça revealed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome the Basque side in La Liga over two years following their departure for construction to commence.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside under the licence granted. When completed, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, up from the previous 99,000. The club said finished work included an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.

Stadium Testing

The club conducted a public practice inside the stadium in early November. The club said approval is being pursued from Uefa to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt next month at the stadium. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
