Expedition 33 Triumphs at the 2025 Golden Joystick Ceremony
The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards were hosted recently, and with a remarkable display, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the most decorated winner. This standout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive earned the esteemed Game of the Year award, along with honors for Outstanding Narrative and Best Visual Design.
Enhancing the developer's success, its talented cast also garnered individual awards. Jennifer English received Best Lead Performer for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr took home Best Supporting Actor for his acting as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive itself was honored as Studio of the Year. Altogether, Clair Obscur and its developers won seven awards throughout the ceremony.
Additional major winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which received Outstanding Audio and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Outstanding Independent Game and Best PC Game. Worth mentioning, the majority of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the audience, with only four special—Critics Choice, Rising Star, Hall of Fame, and Streamers’ Choice—determined by reviewers.
