American-Palestinian Youth Freed Following 270 Days in Israel's Custody

An Palestinian-American teenager who spent 270 days in Israel's custody absent formal charges gained freedom.
The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim was fifteen years old during his detention last February within the occupied West Bank, where he was visiting on holiday from Florida under suspicion of rock throwing against settlement residents, which he previously denied.
American diplomatic officials applauded the teenager's freedom.
Now sixteen years old, needed medical care upon gaining freedom, family members reported.
According to them, he appears pale, underweight, and experiencing medical problems acquired while detained.

The uncle, Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "enduring a dreadful, continuous nightmare" over the last nine months.
"At this moment, we are focused on providing Mohammed with the immediate medical attention he requires after experiencing harsh conditions and cruel circumstances for months."
The state department stated they would maintain to offer diplomatic assistance to the teenager's relatives.
{"American leadership has no higher priority than the safety and security of American nationals"," it added.
Several congressional representatives submitted a formal letter to diplomatic officials and President Donald Trump, requesting additional efforts for his freedom.
The father, with four children managing a frozen treats business from Florida, previously claimed Mohammed acknowledged allegations to throwing stones because the soldiers beat him.
The father hadn't visited nor direct contact since February, receiving updates exclusively regarding the treatment via legal paperwork.
Mohammed was held without charge within Ofer penitentiary on the West Bank.
The facility also contains mature inmates, some of whom have been convicted regarding severe security violations and murder.
There are around 350 Palestinian child security detainees currently imprisoned in Israel, according to the Israeli Prison Service.
Several lack formal charges along with monitoring agencies, including UN bodies, report instances of mistreatment and torture.
Following Mohammed's release, the uncle stated the family would also continue fighting demanding accountability for their family member their cousin Sayfollah.
The 20-year-old dual US citizen according to health authorities was beaten to death by radical settlers during a confrontation in July.
Initially, defense forces stated officials were investigating accounts of a Palestinian had been killed.
The two cousins collaborated in the family ice cream shop based in Florida.
